Tips

The screen shows the tips the guests left when paying by card: how much was collected over a period and whom it belongs to. Tips are not the company's income — they go neither into sales nor into the Z report, because they belong to the person who served.

Where to find it: Sidebar → HoReCa → the Tips tab

The screen opens on the current month. You pick another period in the top corner, and the figures update at once. If the company has several venues, you see them added together.

To turn on tips at the register:

The register doesn't ask for a tip until you turn it on, and until then the screen stays empty.

  1. HoReCa → the Floor and settings tab → Bill rules and venue. If the company has several venues, choose the venue first: tips are turned on for each one.
  2. Turn on The register offers a tip when paying by card.
  3. Type the suggestions in percent and the threshold above which the manager's PIN is needed.
  4. Save. The setting goes to the venue's main register.

At card payment, the register's payment window shows the Tip for panel with the waiter's name: No tip, your suggestions with the amount of each, and Other amount, for an amount typed by hand. The card terminal charges the bill and the tip in one go, and only the bill stays on the fiscal receipt.

The suggestions are at most four percentages, separated by commas — for example 5,10,15. A tip larger than the threshold needs a manager's PIN: with a threshold of 50, on a 400 lei bill, nothing over 200 lei goes through without it. If the person signed in at the register is a manager, the tip goes through without a PIN.

Whom the tip belongs to

A table's tip belongs to the waiter who held the bill, and on a sale without a table, to the cashier who took the payment. Each receipt has a single person, so the tip is not split between colleagues.

Whoever runs the payroll pays the tips to the people; the screen tells them how much each one is owed. The No name (older register) row comes from a register that did not send the person's name yet: the amount is correct, only the name is missing.

What doesn't reach this screen

  • tips left in cash, on the table;
  • a bill paid in parts, with several payment methods;
  • payment with meal vouchers;
  • card payment marked "No card reader" at the register;
  • card payment at a register that sends the card to another register, instead of reading it itself;
  • sales from the Android version of PosFix, which doesn't ask for a tip.

What can confuse you

The screen is empty. Tips are not turned on at the register, or nobody left a tip by card in the chosen period. Check the bill rules, then pick a longer period.

The amount transferred by the bank doesn't match the card total in the Z report. The terminal also charged the tips, which the Z report doesn't have. You find those days' tips on this screen, for the same period.

"The tips couldn't be loaded." The screen shows at most one year at a time. If you picked a longer period, shorten it; otherwise press Retry.

"You don't have the right to see tips." It is the same right as for the floor performance. The owner or a manager grants it in Settings → Role permissions, on the HoReCa — Performanța sălii row (floor performance).
